Cleaning industrial touch screen devices

Cleaning industrial touch screen devices

Digital technology and screens are a part every aspect of our lives and businesses, including in retail, restaurants, and even construction. These screens help us to be more productive but they also quickly collect dirt from fingers, dust, and debris from use in these high-traffic environments.

Here are some steps on how you and your customers can keep those digital screens clean and streak free.

Before you begin, you will need two things:

  1. A cleaning solution - we recommend Multi-Blend Perfect Touch
  2. A microfibre cloth - we include one in every case of 12x1L sprayers or 4x4L jugs

1. Power off your touch screen device

If possible, turn off the screen you are cleaning before you begin. This will help to reduce the temperature and the likelihood of electrical problems with your device. A blank or dark screen will also help you to spot dirt, grime, and streaks.

2. Dust your screen

Quickly dust and debris from the screen with a dry microfibre cloth, this will help to avoid scratches from existing dust or dirt particles when cleaning.

3. Wet part of the cloth with cleaning solution

Generously spray Multi-Blend Perfect Touch, or your favourite touch screen cleaner, on to the microfibre cloth.

Do not spray the solution directly on to the device as this could leak into the device and cause internal damage.

4. Wipe the touchscreen device with the wet cloth

Use the damp microfibre cloth to wipe oils, dirt and additional dust from your screen. Do not apply excessive pressure as this may damage the device.

5. Buff dry to remove streaks

Use the dry part of the cloth to buff out any streaks, being careful to use light pressure.

Multi-Blend Perfect Touch can also be used on your keyboard, mouse or other electrical equipment using the same process. Frequent screen-cleaning gives you and your customers a fresh work surface, unhindered from greasy finger prints and streaks - for all of your devices including Office Computers, Point-of-Sale systems, or even Airport Customs Touch Screens.
